The Centre for Protection, part of the Total Defence, is looking for you who are trained as an Incident Commander, with a placement at the Centre for Protection (SkyddC) in Umeå. You will be part of an Incident-Ready Protection Force (IBSS), where your duties will include guarding the Umeå Garrison.
Main Responsibilities
The duties of an Incident-Ready Protection Force include, among other things, patrolling, guarding, access control, reception of visitors, and staffing the alarm center. The duties also include intervening against and reporting security-threatening activities according to the action plan. Physical training is one of your tasks, and you must meet the requirements according to FM FysS. You will also maintain your knowledge regarding weapon handling and the Protection Act.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Approved military basic training with a grade of at least "JA-2-2" or alternatively "JA-5-5" (if conscription was completed before 2010).
- Category B driver's license.
- Approved Incident Commander training.
- Trained and appointed military security guard.
- Approved platoon sergeant training.
- Good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.

We are looking for someone who can work well as part of a team. The focus is on a high sense of responsibility. You should be unpretentious and show humility towards your tasks. You have good self-awareness and must be mature and reliable to handle people in a professional manner. You are calm and stable but also have the ability to change pace, as your work situation can quickly shift from calm to suddenly involving a sharp operation. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience of working within the Swedish Armed Forces, preferably in security services.
- Pre-employment certificates deemed relevant by the employer.
- Approved military police training.
- Pistol training.
OTHER INFORMATION
- Employment type/degree of employment: The employment is as GSS/K (Platoon Sergeants, Soldiers, and Sailors) supported by the Act (2012:332) on certain Swedish Armed Forces appointments. Full-time. The position begins with a six-month probationary period. The position will later involve shift/weekend work and on-call duties at the workplace. Level OR4.
- Work location: Umeå.
- Individual salary setting applies.
- A health examination will be conducted prior to employment.
- Start date: As soon as possible, according to agreement.

The Centre for Protection (SkyddC) in Umeå is the Swedish Armed Forces' knowledge center for protection against radiation, infection, and poison, so-called CBRN incidents. The unit develops not only the Swedish Armed Forces' units in the area but also ensures capability within other parts of the Swedish Armed Forces. Therefore, the Centre for Protection works with both education and development issues and is responsible for maintaining national and international readiness in the area. The center's function is defense-common, which means ongoing cooperation with several authorities within our subject area. At the Centre for Protection, just over 140 civilians and military personnel work. The budget for the unit covers approximately 140 million SEK per year.
