About the job

The Section for Flight Training works with all matters concerning pilot training, with responsibility for licensing and supervision. We are responsible for flight schools, flight simulators, approved drone schools, and examination questions. Within the examination process, we handle the theoretical examinations that aspiring pilots must undergo. As a case handler, you will be responsible for the theoretical examinations and ensure they are conducted in accordance with current regulations and with the Swedish Transport Agency's goals in focus. This includes, among other things, administering students registered for theory tests, training and monitoring test invigilators, and handling requests for review of test results. This is primarily an administrative role, but some supervisory tasks and international contacts occur. For example, you will represent the Swedish Transport Agency in international work regarding theory examinations, and depending on your previous competence, this may include acting as a question reviewer for EASA.

You will

• work in our business systems, Pexo and Empic, to ensure that theory examinations follow current regulations
• administer students registered for theory tests, train and monitor test invigilators, and handle requests for review of test results
• prepare, design, and participate in the processing of decisions, primarily exemption applications
• have contact with flight schools, students, and certificate holders regarding theory examinations, and participate in the Swedish Transport Agency's seminars
• participate in relevant regulatory work
• perform administrative tasks within the section's area of operations
• contribute to tasks within the agency based on the needs of the entire operation

The work may involve travel, both domestic and international.

You must have

• a passed ATPL theory examination
• a B driver's license
• good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in both Swedish and English
• experience in an administrative role where you have worked with IT-based business systems or other competence/experience that we assess as equivalent
• experience working with a computer as the primary work tool.

It is meritorious if you also have

• experience in flight training operations
• experience working with international regulations and in international contexts
• experience within an organization working on the development of manuals and handbooks
• experience in case handling at a government agency
• project management experience
• experience as an administrator in SharePoint or Power BI
• experience with statistics management or programming.

The position is permanent with placement at one of the agency's operational locations: Norrköping, Stockholm, or Gothenburg. Appointment according to agreement. We normally apply a probationary period. We offer remote work based on operational needs, up to 3 days. Employment with us may involve security clearance. A security investigation with register check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted. For some of our security-classified tasks, Swedish citizenship is required.
