We are currently looking for a skilled lathe operator for one of our clients in central Karlstad.

About the role

As a lathe operator, you will become an important part of a dedicated and knowledgeable team. The operations include washing, blasting, disassembly/assembly, welding, and machining. Here, you are offered a varied and developmental role with significant responsibility, where you will work with advanced technology in a modern production environment. You will operate a sophisticated four-axis lathe (X.Y.Z.C) equipped with driven tools, rotating tools, a swiveling head, and a Siemens 840D SL control system. Programming is done with the support of EdgeCam, and you will handle large, complex workpieces with high tolerance requirements. A bridge crane is used for handling and moving parts.

Your responsibilities include:

• Material planning and measuring workpieces in the machine
• Performing independent measurements of parts to ensure quality
• Creating and filling out measurement protocols
• Performing basic operator maintenance

In this role, you have significant responsibility for the entire process – from preparation and setup to machining and final inspection. Precision and quality are always in focus. You work in a shift team of two to three people and collaborate closely with other departments, such as production engineering and maintenance. Good communication, teamwork, and understanding of material flows are crucial for success in this role.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who has:

• Technical education / workshop education focused on cutting machining or equivalent education or experience (green card).
• Basic knowledge of reading technical drawings
• Knowledge of CNC technology (preferably Siemens 840D)
• At least 5 years of experience working with CNC, preferably lathe operation
• Experience in turning heavy components
• Good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written
• Valid driver's license (Category B) and bridge crane license

It is an advantage if you have experience with CAD/CAM and handling of measuring tools. Proficiency in English is also a big plus.
