We are now looking for a road worker within operations and maintenance for our establishment in Värmdö. At Svevia, we combine the camaraderie and team spirit of a small company with the stability of a large corporation. Here, you have the opportunity to develop as a road specialist – with engagement, collaboration, and responsibility.
Your role as a road worker
If you are interested in maintaining and caring for roads, this is the job for you. The work primarily consists of operational and maintenance-related tasks such as minor asphalt repairs, sign work, mowing and brush clearing during the summer, and snow and ice control during the winter. In addition, we constantly perform road inspections to identify defects, plan, and execute measures – all to create safe and secure roads for our citizens. This means that as a road worker at Svevia, you will have summer and winter readiness as part of your role.
The position is full-time with a location in Värmdö, starting as agreed. Normal working hours are Monday–Friday 07:00–16:00; on-call duties may occur. At Svevia, we apply individual salary setting.
Who are you?
In our effort to develop both our work team and operations, you are important to us, which is why we value your personal qualities. We are looking for someone who can drive and plan their work independently, is engaged, and has the desire to learn and develop within Svevia and the road industry. You value and contribute to a good atmosphere and care about a good working environment and high safety standards.
To succeed in the role, we see it as a requirement that you have:
- C driving license
- Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
It is highly meritorious if you also have:
- Experience within the contracting industry focusing on operations and maintenance or construction work.
- YKB (Certification for work in road construction/maintenance)
- Experience working digitally and with digital tools
Part of something bigger
Svevia is today Sweden's largest operational contractor. Within operations and maintenance, we handle summer and winter road maintenance for half of the state's road network. Many municipalities, private companies, and road associations hire us to take care of their roads and outdoor areas.
With us, you contribute to a larger whole. We plow for the family heading to the mountains. We ensure that commercial freight transports reach their destinations and that streets, squares, and parks are clean and tidy. Furthermore, we protect lives on the road through our services in traffic management.
Why Svevia?
With us, you quickly become part of the team, and we strive to be a workplace for everyone. Decision-making paths are short, and it is easy to have your voice heard. At the same time, you become part of a practical reality and a company where concrete results are created with steaming asphalt machines, large snowplows, and tons of rebar and concrete. With your professional skills, you can make a difference on the road. And we always put safety first – both with care for your own working environment and the safety of others.
For you who want to take the next step in development, there are many opportunities. Whether you want to deepen your expertise in your specific area or move forward into a supervisory position. Together, we make cities and the countryside function. Do you want to share the road with us?
