We are currently seeking an engaged melt operator/caster who wants to be part of the heart of production at our client's facility in Ljungby. Here, you will play a central role in the process from scrap to finished steel – a job that requires both precision, planning skills, and close collaboration with colleagues.

About the role

As a melt operator/caster, you work in a team with a colleague in the melting shop and are an important part of a cohesive workforce in the foundry. The role involves close collaboration with pourers, team leaders, and the quality department to ensure that the melting plan is followed with the highest quality and minimal deviation.

Your responsibilities

• Drive the process from scrap to molten steel
• Ensure the condition of the melting furnaces and perform operator maintenance
• Plan work in the melting shop and report on target follow-up
• Order scrap deliveries and handle alloying materials
• Perform sampling using a spectrometer
• Dismantle and tamp furnaces and participate in inventory counts
• Work according to established safety routines
