Curious about psychiatry and psychosis care?

Do you want to be part of a courageous and person-centered organization? The Psychiatric Clinic offers rewarding and exciting clinical work, opportunities to broaden and deepen your competence, and a wide range of career development paths for all professional groups.

What we offer

The Psychiatric Clinic in Linköping is a university hospital with diverse operations. The clinic comprises outpatient and inpatient care, a detoxification unit, and an emergency unit. Additionally, we have mobile services; the mobile outpatient team and pre-hospital acute psychiatric mobility (psychiatric ambulance).

Our nurses wish to develop, and the clinic has therefore invested in strengthening nursing competence. In recent years, we have empowered our nurses to take responsibility and steer the development of nursing care, working to ensure that the latest research is understandable and applicable in our clinical daily life. For some time now, we have worked based on a recovery-oriented approach, and we see how care has shifted from a more traditional mindset to being driven by increasingly flexible and person-centered care where the patient's experience and needs are always our starting point. This in turn makes the daily work more meaningful and developmental.

As a nurse with us, there are good opportunities to develop and advance your career within the clinic. You are offered both internal and external training, such as interaction training. There is also the possibility of paid further education to become a specialist nurse in psychiatry – a step we are happy to support you in.

Here you can read about our career ladder for nurses and also about your benefits with us.

Job Description

We are now looking for a nurse for our inpatient unit S-90, focusing on psychotic disorders, such as schizophrenia and delusional disorders. Here, people are cared for in different phases of their illness – from first episode to long-term conditions, often with comorbidity with other conditions or diseases. As a nurse in psychosis care, you play a central role in both stabilizing and supporting the patient in their recovery process. You have a leading role in nursing work, where the relationship with the patient is the foundation for meeting individual needs based on their unique life situation.

You work closely with the patient and build safe relationships through conversation and presence – relationships that promote trust, participation, and recovery. The work takes place in a team, and you are responsible for the daily nursing work, which includes medication management, participation in ward rounds, reporting, and collaboration with other care providers.

We work creatively and resource-focused, with the patient's skills at the center. We use techniques, methods, approaches, measures, and actions that are grounded in various areas of competence. Here you have the opportunity to develop, contribute, and be an important part of a context where every encounter counts.

We value a good work climate with a focus on respect, security, and community. We continuously work to create a safe and enabling work environment where the focus is on communication, reflection, and mirroring.

About You

We are looking for you who are a registered nurse with a genuine interest in meeting people in vulnerable life situations. Experience of psychiatric care or a specialist nurse degree is meritorious, but not decisive – we also welcome those who are new to the field. With curiosity, engagement, and the desire to do the best for the patient, you will develop together with us.

As a new nurse, you are offered a personally adapted introduction and mentoring by an experienced nurse as long as the need exists. We offer a present leadership, and you will have support from the nearest manager who is easily accessible within the unit.

You have the ability to see both the patient's needs and resources. You are driven by a person-centered approach and value flexibility and creativity in nursing work. You thrive in an environment where you get the opportunity to use and develop your personal qualities and resources, while contributing to the continuous development of our operations.

Application and Employment

The work involves rotational shifts.

Before employment in a patient-facing role within Region Östergötland, you will be asked to fill out a health declaration.

We warmly welcome your application! If you need help registering in the system, contact Customer Service Support and Service, 010-103 60 00, during office hours.

To staffing, mediation, and recruitment agencies, and to you who are a salesperson:

We kindly but firmly decline direct contact with staffing, mediation, and recruitment agencies as well as other external actors and sellers of additional job advertisements. Region Östergötland has procured agreements.
