The Department of Molecular Biosciences, Wenner-Gren Institute (MBW) conducts experimental basic research in molecular cell biology, integrative biology, and infection and immunobiology. The research is characterized by modern and advanced methodology, and the research environment has a strong international profile, linked to SciLifeLab (Solna). The department offers education at undergraduate, advanced, and doctoral levels. MBW is one of the larger departments within the Faculty of Science at Stockholm University, with 30 research groups and approximately 180 employees, including about 50 doctoral students.

Stockholm University conducts internationally competitive research in molecular physiology. MBW aims to strengthen and further develop its research and education in this area. The department has appropriate infrastructure for advanced metabolic studies in mouse and rat models. The successful candidate is expected to lead a research group in molecular physiology and conduct experimental research with the goal of understanding mammalian metabolism at a molecular mechanistic level. We are looking for an outstanding researcher who can integrate into the existing research environment.

Qualifications
Eligibility for appointment as a university lecturer requires demonstrating pedagogical proficiency and having completed a doctoral degree, or having equivalent competence, which is significant with regard to the subject content of the appointment and the duties included in the position.
All teaching appointments at Stockholm University presuppose that the applicant has the ability to cooperate and is otherwise suitable to perform the duties of the position.
Evaluation Criteria
During the appointment process, particular weight will be placed on scientific and pedagogical proficiency in the evaluation. Scientific proficiency will primarily be assessed within the subject area of the appointment.
Some weight is also given to:
- skill in developing and leading operations and personnel
- administrative proficiency
With otherwise equal merits, the following are distinguishing:
- teaching experience within the subject area of the appointment.
University Teaching Education
University teaching education or equivalent knowledge acquired in other ways is meritorious. An applicant who lacks university teaching education of at least 15 higher education credits and who is not also assessed to have acquired equivalent knowledge in other ways must undergo such education during the first two years of employment.
Other Information
Swedish language proficiency is not a requirement for the appointment, but the applicant must be prepared to, within a couple of years, if necessary, take on administrative and pedagogical duties that require a good understanding of Swedish.
