Brandbergsskolan is now looking for an engaged Social Studies (SO) teacher for grades 4–6 on an 80 % temporary basis during the autumn term of 2026. The position includes teaching in Social Studies, mentorship, and support in Swedish and Swedish as a Second Language (SVA), with a focus on reading.

Brandbergsskolan is a preschool to grade 9 school in Haninge with approximately 600 students. Our operations are characterized by inclusion, diversity, and high ambitions for students' learning and development.

Our students represent many languages and cultures, which we see as a great asset in teaching. We work purposefully to create a safe and stimulating learning environment where all students are given good conditions to succeed. Safety, study peace, and an inclusive approach are central parts of our work, where every student should feel seen, involved, and motivated in their learning.

We have very good results in the Swedish Schools Inspectorate's survey, particularly regarding safety, and we continuously work to develop teaching so that all students can reach as far as possible.

Your Role

As a Social Studies teacher for grades 4–6, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on teaching with high expectations for all students.

The role also includes mentorship and support in Swedish and Swedish as a Second Language, with a particular focus on reading and reading comprehension.

You create a safe, structured, and stimulating learning environment where students' learning and development are at the center. With a language- and knowledge-developing approach, you strengthen students' language development in all contexts and adapt teaching to students' different needs and prerequisites.

You assess, document, and follow up on students' knowledge development and provide continuous feedback. As a mentor, you support and guide students in both their academic and social development.

You actively participate in the school's development work, collaborate closely with colleagues in work teams, and share responsibility for students' learning and well-being.

We are looking for someone who

• is a certified teacher with eligibility to teach Social Studies for grades 4–6 (eligibility in Swedish/SVA is an advantage)
• has a clear, secure, and relational leadership style in the classroom
• works with a language- and knowledge-developing approach and sees language as a key to learning in all subjects
• has experience teaching in multilingual and multicultural environments
• can adapt teaching based on students' different needs and prerequisites
• has good ability to assess, document, and follow up on students' knowledge development
• has very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
• has good digital competence and experience using digital tools and learning platforms in teaching.
• enjoys collaboration and wants to contribute to the school's continued development
