Avesta Hospital is a smaller county hospital with a 24-hour open emergency department and three care wards with a total of approximately 40 beds. We offer primary care for residents in southern Dalarna and northern Västmanland. Here, emergency care, medicine, geriatrics, and rehabilitation are gathered in one clinic, which offers unique opportunities for rapid and efficient handling throughout the entire care chain.

We also offer specialized outpatient care in: cardiology, endocrinology, nephrology, gastroenterology, sleep medicine, and dementia assessments, as well as general internal medicine and geriatric assessment and treatment. With approximately 200 employees and a strong educational climate, our motto is: Sweden's best residency school – which has contributed to us consistently being highly ranked as a medicine placement on the AT ranking!

As a Specialist Trainee (ST) in Internal Medicine with us, you will:

• Work broadly within both inpatient and outpatient care.
• Be part of a competent team with close collaboration across specialty boundaries.
• Contribute to education by mentoring trainee doctors.
• Develop in an environment where learning and quality are at the center.

Requirements:

• Swedish medical license
• Swedish language skills corresponding to at least C1 level
• Personal qualities such as responsibility and teamwork are highly valued
