Responsibilities

You will work in teams where the elderly are the focus, and you are a central part of the care and nursing around our care recipients. Together, you will provide a good quality of life with joy and gentle hands, while strengthening the elderly person's abilities.

The work is based on the individual's needs/action plans, as well as the facility's guidelines and goals. We work with a shared value system, increased participation, and collaboration as a starting point.

Your tasks include helping residents with things they cannot manage themselves, such as hygiene, social community, meals, and delegated health and medical care tasks from nurses.

You will participate in workplace meetings and representative meetings. The work also includes contact with relatives, unit managers, nurses, and rehabilitation staff.

Qualifications

We are seeking educated assistant nurses or equivalent experience. You must have good knowledge of the Swedish language and be able to understand and convey written and oral information clearly. You should be computer literate and confident in documenting in journal systems. You also need to handle telephone contact professionally – with relatives, nurses, and other stakeholders.

You should be motivated and passionate about helping others, and you should find it easy to empathize with others' situations. Showing respect for others' wishes and needs is important to you, and you enjoy collaborating to find solutions to reach our common goals. In our work, we encounter constant changes, so it is important that you are flexible, can remain calm, and maintain a good mood even in stressful situations.

Previous work experience in healthcare and social services is an asset, as is experience working with people with cognitive impairment and low-arousal interaction methods.

Hortlaxgården is located about 1 mile south of the city in a rural idyll, with a beautiful view of Hortlax Church. Hortlaxgården is a special housing facility for the elderly with 60 places divided into four units, two of which are dementia units and two are care and nursing units.
