Temporary position for parental leave in Meal Service, which is a combined position for preschool & school in Gamleby.

In our preschool and school kitchens, the meal is more than just food: it is a moment of community, security, and joy of eating. As a meal assistant, you are an important part of this. You work closely with kitchen colleagues, educators, and children, where you are a positive and secure adult in their meal environment. The work is scheduled during the day and follows the operating hours of the facilities.

In this combined position, you will work in both the preschool and school kitchens in Gamleby.

As a meal assistant, your tasks will include:

• Preparing and assisting in serving breakfast, lunch, and snacks
• Supporting the chef in simple cooking and preparation
• Handling dishes and keeping the kitchen organized
• Unpacking goods and handling food safely
• Following hygiene and self-control routines
• Meeting children and students with a warm and service-oriented approach
• Collaborating with colleagues in both preschool and school.

For this role, it is required that you have experience working in a kitchen, serving, or other service activities and have basic knowledge of food hygiene and self-control. You enjoy working both independently and in a team, and you like meeting people and contributing to a pleasant meal environment.

We are looking for someone who is positive, flexible, and has a genuine interest in working with children. For the role, you need to be able to communicate in Swedish to follow routines and handle special diets, as well as feel comfortable with digital work tools.

It is an advantage if you have training as a meal assistant or in food, experience from large kitchens, preschools, or schools, as well as knowledge of HACCP or special diets. Experience in sustainability or food waste work and familiarity with dietary software, such as Mashie, is also a plus.

For this position, it is advantageous to have a B driver's license and access to a car.

To work in our facilities, a criminal record extract from the police is required.
