Technician for the Department of Micro and Nanosystems

Responsibilities

The responsibilities primarily include meeting the need for custom-made mechanical fixtures, as well as any electrical, fluid, or gas connections, for the department's small chips and systems (millimeter to centimeter). This includes the design, construction, and manufacturing of relevant fixtures and connections, which you will produce in the department's mechanical workshop using manual and numerically controlled equipment. It also includes the design and manufacturing of simpler electronics, as well as some troubleshooting and servicing of existing laboratory equipment. The responsibilities also include coordinating laboratory activities. The work is carried out in close collaboration with PhD students and other staff.

About the Department/Group

The position is located at the Department of Micro and Nanosystems within KTH EECS, which conducts research and teaching on small systems or chips (millimeter to centimeter) for use in areas such as telecommunications, energy and electronics, healthcare, biosciences, and much more. The department's seven research groups gather 20-25 PhD students as well as several postdocs and researchers in a highly international and interdisciplinary environment, with access to several shared laboratories and workshops.

Qualifications

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent.
• Several years of experience in the design and manufacturing of mechanical components.

We are looking for someone who is service-oriented and creative. You have good problem-solving analytical skills and are willing to take your own initiatives. You collaborate well with others and communicate effectively in both Swedish and English, as a large part of the staff has an international background.

About the Employment
