The Swedish Prison and Probation Service in Kalmar is expanding and currently has several ongoing projects and new establishments ahead. The establishment of a class 3 prison in 2026, a new remand center aiming to be operational in 2027, and a new correctional facility expected to be completed by 2030. This expansion creates great opportunities, and several new employees in various professional categories will need to be recruited in the coming years.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are now looking for a warehouse administrator for the prison in Kalmar for a longer temporary position. This is the role for you who thrive in a job where order, flow, and quality are in focus, and where you also get to work closely with both colleagues and the larger organization.

As a warehouse administrator, you play an important support role for the rest of the prison. You will work with varied tasks, both administrative and physical. Your tasks will include unpacking, inspecting, and registering clients' belongings upon arrival, as well as printing, packing, and distributing or sending clients' belongings when they conclude their stay with us. You will be responsible for invoice management, purchasing materials, and inventory management and internal distribution of these within the prison. You will receive and check in goods and incoming items to the warehouse.

As a warehouse administrator, it is important that you take responsibility for your tasks and that you have the ability to plan, structure, and prioritize your work independently. You are calm, stable, and controlled in stressful situations and attentive and accommodating in your interactions. At the same time, you possess the ability to set boundaries and are not afraid to speak up when the situation requires it. You work well with others, are clear, and relate to others smoothly. In your role, you contribute to the whole and take responsibility for coming up with solutions and developing the organization together with us.

Requirements

• Completed upper secondary education or other education combined with work experience deemed relevant by the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
• Ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish
• Good computer skills
• Driver's license B

Meritorious

• Work experience from warehouse/storage work, preferably from the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
• Knowledge and experience in handling invoices and orders, preferably in the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's financial systems Proceedo and KVR
• Experience in decision-making in public administration
• Experience working in a remand center or prison within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
