We are looking for a temporary hospital physicist for the University Hospital in Örebro, focusing on nuclear medicine.

Currently, the nuclear medicine department has 2 SPECT/CT, 2 PET/CT with associated auto-injectors, and a radioiodine equipment. Conventional nuclear medicine examinations primarily using technetium are performed, as well as PET examinations with fluorine and gallium-based radiopharmaceuticals. At present, the gallium activity is increasing the most. The work on in-house production of FDG is in its final stages and will start being used in the operations in 2026.

Hospital physics is part of the Radiology and Hospital Physics business area. The unit is divided into three sections; the radiation therapy section, the diagnostics and radiation protection section, and the radiochemistry section. You will be one of seven colleagues belonging to the diagnostics and radiation protection section, two of whom currently work in nuclear medicine. All nuclear medicine activities are conducted at the University Hospital in Örebro.

Your job responsibilities will include supporting and developing examination methods, performing quality controls, conducting nuclear medicine therapies, and radiation safety work. You will work closely with other hospital physicists but also with other healthcare personnel such as doctors, radiology nurses, BMA, and medical technology engineers.
