Position as Service Assistant within the Health and Care Administration

The position is located within the Health and Care Administration, which is one of eight administrations in Linköping Municipality. The Health and Care Administration is responsible for the municipality's elderly care, health care, authority functions, ordering services, and provides care and support directly. Your Responsibilities

Do you want to help contribute to a safe, meaningful, and functioning everyday life for our elderly? We are now looking for 14 service assistants who, with service at the center, want to make a difference in the workplace, contribute to a sustainable work life, and meet the future of elderly care.

In the role of service assistant, you will perform service tasks and simpler care tasks. The tasks may vary based on the needs of the workplace you are assigned to. You will assist with practical tasks, provide support in daily activities, and contribute to social interaction.

Your tasks may include:

• preparation kitchen at nursing homes or lunch restaurant at assisted living facilities
• cleaning of premises and/or clients' homes
• participating in simpler care-related services, such as making beds
• assisting with simpler care tasks
• delivery of meal boxes to clients
• preparing and serving meals, washing dishes, and setting tables
• responsible for ordering goods and unpacking and restocking items
• shopping for clients
• walking with clients
• social interaction, such as reading aloud and other activities
• washing clothes for staff and clients
• cleaning of aids
• simpler practical tasks
• maintenance and service of bicycles
• creating a pleasant atmosphere by decorating and acknowledging holidays

As a service assistant, you will be an important part of the operation and contribute to creating a safe and pleasant environment for our clients and your colleagues. In your role, you may also function as a mentor for service assistants, guiding and supporting your colleague in their daily work.

Your Workplace

You will work in elderly care at a nursing home, assisted living facility, or a regular housing unit. A nursing home is a residence for elderly individuals who have a high need for care and support in their daily lives. Staff is available around the clock to assist the residents. In an assisted living facility, elderly individuals who can manage a lot on their own live in their own apartments in a secure environment with opportunities for community and social interaction. Those living in assisted living can receive support and services in their homes through home care services.

As a service assistant, you will be part of a team consisting of service assistants, care assistants, nursing assistants, licensed staff, coordinators, planners, and the operations manager. Together, we form a team where each professional role contributes with its expertise to create good care, support, and living situations for our elderly.

Working hours may be scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends and may vary based on the needs of the operation. You will work according to a schedule.

Who We Are Looking For

We consider completed primary school or higher education as an asset. Previous experience in service occupations and/or elderly care is also an advantage. Participation in the Competence Chain is seen as a merit for the position.

It is advantageous if you have a B driver's license and/or can ride a bicycle.

We are looking for someone who works well with others and listens and communicates clearly. You are self-driven and have an empathetic ability to understand others' perspectives and situations. You are engaged and loyal in your work, with a positive attitude.
