We at Dalarna's Assistive Device Center, Technical Service department, are now looking for a reliable and service-oriented Assistive Device Technician who wants to be part of our team! Technical Service currently operates throughout Dalarna and consists of 16 employees. Every day, our technician buses roll out from Avesta, Borlänge, Falun, Ludvika, and Mora to provide service to our citizens.

Assistive Device Technician to DHC Avesta Job Responsibilities

As an Assistive Device Technician with us, you will work with inspection, service, preventive and corrective maintenance of various types of assistive devices such as wheelchairs, beds, patient lifts, and other medical technical products. You will play an important role in ensuring that our customers in homes, schools, and special accommodations receive the right delivery of assistive devices and that these function safely and optimally. You will work closely with DHC's departments/teams, healthcare personnel, and users. The work is varied and requires good physical ability as heavy lifting is involved. We work closely with people in their daily lives and follow them throughout their life cycle, which makes approachability, responsiveness, and engagement important qualities. The position is based at the branch in Avesta, where you will be stationed and work independently in your daily tasks. At the same time, you will have close support from colleagues at our other branches, meaning you will always have a team to turn to when needed.

Your main job responsibilities will include:

  • Repair, service, and maintenance of various assistive devices.
  • Functional checks to ensure the highest quality and safety.
  • Assembly and installation
  • Pick-ups/deliveries of assistive devices
  • Simple adjustments of assistive devices
  • Inspection of assistive devices
  • Documentation of completed actions according to current guidelines.
  • Participate in business development
Additional InformationQualifications

Requirements:

  • Technical high school education or equivalent education/experience
  • Experience in technical work, preferably as a service technician or in repairs
  • Driver's license B (manual transmission)
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Good computer skills and experience working with MS365
  • Good knowledge of expressing yourself well in Swedish in both spoken and written form
  • Ability to be flexible and structured at the same time

Meritorious:

  • Experience working with medical technical products or assistive devices
  • Knowledge in mechanics, electronics, or workshop technology
  • Education in assistive technology, ergonomics, or materials science
  • Experience with and use of the system Sesam2
  • Experience in customer contact
