In Sweden, Vattenfall Värme delivers district heating, district cooling, and steam to industries, property owners, and residential customers in fifteen municipalities. We provide sustainable heating to approximately 200,000 Swedish households and heat, cooling, and steam to industrial customers. We actively work according to a clear plan to reduce fossil emissions in our cities, our own heat production, and from our suppliers, with the goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2040. We are particularly proud that our main product, district heating, plays such an important role in the energy transition and the new circular society.
About the Role
Do you want to work closely with our production facilities and take responsibility for quality-assured and structured technical documentation?
As a Documentation Technician with a mechanical focus at Vattenfall Värme Uppsala, you will play an important role in ensuring that drawings, manuals, and technical documentation are of a high technical standard and always up to date.
In this role, you will become a specialist and primary contact for issues related to mechanical drawings and documentation. You will primarily manage existing drawings, support projects and the maintenance department, and drive the work towards a modern, structured, and quality-assured documentation management.
You will work closely with operations and maintenance, and to a lesser extent with project managers and external suppliers. The role combines practical work with drawings and documents with a long-term responsibility for developing documentation processes.
Your main tasks:
- Coordination, establishment, and maintenance of mechanical drawings and documentation.
- Administrator of archives for drawings, manuals, and technical documents.
- Management, support, and user assistance for drawings in document management systems.
- Development and management of drawing and document templates.
- Contact person for technical documentation.
Requirements
We are looking for someone who has:
- Experience with mechanical drawings, machine design, facility documentation, or similar.
- Good knowledge of CAD environments (e.g., AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar mechanical CAD).
- A structured work style and the ability to ensure quality in documentation.
- Experience with document management systems; knowledge of SAP is an advantage.
- Good ability to collaborate with operations, maintenance, and project organizations.
- Good communication skills in both Swedish and English.
Desirable:
- Experience from the energy sector, process industry, or facility projects.
- Experience with drawing standards, P&ID flows, or pressure-bearing equipment.
- Understanding of technical regulations and standards within mechanics.

You plan, coordinate, and prioritize your work to achieve set goals, take responsibility, and work independently. At the same time, you build trust through honesty and integrity and enjoy supporting others in matters related to documentation and quality.
