The County Administrative Board of Södermanland is looking for a

Field Controller/Officer for the Agricultural Support Unit.

The Agricultural Support Unit is tasked with processing and controlling the area and animal-based support applications submitted through the coordinated application (SAM). This includes direct support and several environmental compensations within the strategic plan. The unit is currently part of the Department of Operational Management and Support.

Job Responsibilities

As a field controller, you will work to ensure that farmers' applications for area and animal-based support correspond to the actual conditions on the farms. In the field, you will assess boundaries, crops, and the management of arable and pasture land. Pre- and post-work is done administratively in the office. You will work in the Swedish Board of Agriculture's IT system for processing and control. A field computer is used in the field. The job involves a lot of direct contact with and service to farmers. As an officer in the Agricultural Support Unit, the work primarily involves processing applications and payments regarding area and animal-based support, including work with recoveries. The work consists of shared tasks within a smaller team.

Qualifications and Profile

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A university degree as an agronomist, agricultural engineer, biologist, landscape architect, or similar that the County Administrative Board deems equivalent education, or has knowledge through several years of work experience.
  • A driving license for manual transmission.

It is meritorious if you:

  • Have experience with field controls related to area and animal-based support.
  • Have experience in processing area and animal-based support, inventory, or advisory work in agriculture.
  • Have good knowledge of agricultural policy and the conditions of agriculture.
  • Have experience working in the Swedish Board of Agriculture's various IT environments.
  • Have experience in telephone support.
  • Master the basics of practical agriculture.

As a person, you are responsible, attentive, and have good pedagogical skills and a knack for collaboration. You should be able to express yourself well in speech and writing. The work is independent and requires precision. You need to have good computer skills. We highly value good collaboration skills and personal drive as we work in a group with clear goals. The job requires you to be able to deliver against set targets. We place great emphasis on personal qualities.

About the Position

The employment is a fixed-term position from May 4, 2026, or by agreement until November 30, 2026.

All positions at the County Administrative Board may be subject to security clearance and military placement depending on the nature of the assignment.
