Palliative care and Advanced Home Healthcare (ASIH) in Trelleborg are organizationally part of the management Near Care and Health, operational area mobile teams and specialized palliative care in southwestern Skåne. We offer specialized palliative care aimed at alleviating symptoms and preventing suffering associated with incurable or chronic illness, regardless of the person's age or diagnosis. Care can be provided as inpatient care in the Palliative Care Department, within advanced home healthcare (ASIH), or via a palliative specialist clinic. The care is specialized based on each individual patient's needs.

The operation in Trelleborg is a unit consisting of teams with nurses, nursing assistants, social workers, physiotherapists, dietitians, doctors, and medical secretaries. We are constantly working to develop and strengthen teamwork to create an attractive workplace. Each employee contributes with their specific competencies, where our joint efforts make a significant difference for patients and their relatives. ASIH, the Palliative Care Department, and the specialist clinic work closely together. ASIH has 17 places within our catchment area of Trelleborg, Svedala, and Vellinge municipalities, and the department has six inpatient care places in Trelleborg.

We offer patients and relatives care around the clock, which means that the position partially involves working at inconvenient times.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We offer you a developing and exciting job where you become part of a multidisciplinary team. You actively participate in planning around the patient's care together with other professionals and in collaboration with other healthcare providers.

Working within specialized palliative care in Trelleborg means working person-centered and contributing to creating security in difficult life situations for all our patients and their relatives. You meet patients in their homes, listen in, and work based on the conditions that exist, focusing on their goals.

The work involves performing assessments and care from a holistic perspective. Patients enrolled in ASIH have needs for specialized palliative care, which means they often have a complex symptom profile or that their life situation entails special needs. We handle everything from medical tasks such as giving injections, connecting infusions and medication pumps, placing catheters, and performing drainages to having supportive conversations with patients or relatives and being a support in contact with authorities. We also have a mission to provide supportive cancer care at home, which is given in the form of targeted interventions.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a licensed nurse with authorization to practice within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale are a requirement. Since the position involves caring for patients in their homes, a valid B driver's license for a manual transmission vehicle is also a requirement. We would like you to have several years of professional experience as a nurse, and if you have specialist training in oncology, palliative care, or pediatrics, it is an advantage.

A large part of the work involves support and conversations, so you need to be communicative and have the ability to meet people on different levels.
