Art Manager with a focus on mediation, participation, and collaboration

Do you want to make art a natural part of people's everyday lives and develop our shared spaces in Katrineholm? We are looking for an art manager who is creative, driven, and good at collaborating. We are a strong team that develops ideas together, and we are looking for someone who wants to make art accessible to everyone in the entire municipality.

The position is daytime Monday to Friday, but evening or weekend work may occur depending on the content of the tasks.

Your assignment

You will work with the municipality's public art and exhibitions in the art hall. The role combines long-term planning with practical project management.

• Art Hall and Exhibitions: You plan exhibitions with the goal of making everyone feel welcome. You have a particular responsibility for projects aimed at children and youth as well as attracting new visitors.
• Public Art and Conversations: You lead the work with new art in parks, residential areas, and other shared environments. You make art important to the local community through conversation and community.
• Participation: You find ways to involve residents and target groups in the creation and selection of art.
• Collaboration: You work closely with management and collaborate with colleagues in general culture, libraries, youth culture, and leisure as well as the city gardener. You ensure that art is a natural part of the entire community building.

Your responsibilities include:

• Making art understandable and engaging for all residents.
• Collaborating with colleagues and external partners to make art open to everyone and reach new target groups.
• Driving projects that strengthen democracy and everyone's right to art.
• Developing new ways of working to reach groups that seldom visit art activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Who are you?

You are a pedagogical enabler who is good at explaining art and passionate about including more people.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Pedagogical knowledge: Experience in teaching art and developing methods for different target groups.
• Academic education: At least three years of studies in art history or another relevant subject area.
• Experience as an exhibitor: Familiarity with creating exhibitions that are easy for everyone to visit and understand.
• Communication skills: You know how to talk about art with a group of children compared to a group of seniors or people who rarely experience art.
• Project management skills: You can drive projects from idea to finished result, including budget, contracts, and procurement.

Your personal qualities

You are unpretentious, creative, and organized. As a person, you are flexible and easily build trust and good relationships. You dare to try new ways of working to make art important and accessible to more people. It is an advantage if you have work experience and a broad network in the visual arts and design field.
