Description

You will work in the environmental protection unit, which consists of 14 employees who together work for a more sustainable future.

In the unit, we mainly work with supervision of environmentally hazardous activities and with the county's contaminated areas. We have a good atmosphere in the unit with high ceilings, where everyone works together to protect the environment and people's health.

The environmental protection unit is one of the four units that make up the environmental department.

Responsibilities

You will primarily work with:

• Supervision of environmentally hazardous activities
• Supervisory guidance for municipal environmental inspectors regarding environmentally hazardous activities
• Consultation and statements within permit processes for environmentally hazardous activities; currently, we have many cases concerning large solar parks

The tasks are independent, varied, and developing. You have a significant responsibility with many external and internal contacts, which means you will often interact with various types of stakeholders, such as operators, interest organizations, other government agencies, courts, companies in different industries, consultants, contractors, and individuals.

The sectors we currently need reinforcement in are solar power and wind power, large wastewater treatment plants, and agriculture. Depending on your competence and interest, work in other sectors may also be relevant.

Qualifications

You have:

• A degree from a minimum three-year environmental-oriented higher education
• Good knowledge of Office programs
• Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish
• Knowledge of applicable legislation and guidelines (Environmental Code, relevant guidelines from the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency)
• Experience in supervising environmentally hazardous activities
• Experience in writing authority decisions and statements in the field
• Experience in the assessment of environmentally hazardous activities
• A valid driver's license (B)

It is an advantage if you have experience in environmental supervision or assessment of solar power plants, wind power, large wastewater treatment plants, or agricultural operations.
