The Operations and Service Department is responsible for the operation, preventive and emergency maintenance, and internal and external care of the municipality's own properties such as schools, preschools, elderly homes, and sports halls.

We are now looking for a property caretaker with a focus on outdoor environments for our department.

Job Responsibilities

In your role as a property caretaker with a focus on outdoor environments, you will be responsible for the internal and external supervision/care of the municipality's properties and will be part of the outdoor environment group during the summer months.

The outdoor environment group is responsible for planning and implementing maintenance and development efforts on several of our properties each year. The work is varied and practical, focusing on creating sustainable, pleasant, and well-maintained outdoor environments.

Your job responsibilities include, among other things:

• Pruning trees, shrubs, and perennials
• Weeding and ongoing maintenance
• Barking and soil improvement
• General care and development of green areas

You will work both independently and together with colleagues to ensure long-term and sustainable maintenance of our outdoor environments. During the winter months, you will work as a property caretaker and support the operations where needed.

The position includes receiving reports of faults and performing various functional checks digitally in our operational system, as well as conducting simpler troubleshooting and handling of lock and access systems. You will plan and carry out preventive and corrective measures, both independently and sometimes together with other property caretakers.

Your work will also include providing operational support to various services within the municipality, such as schools, preschools, elderly homes, and more.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has some form of gardening education or other education/experience that the employer deems sufficient. It is an advantage if you have work experience as a gardener or property caretaker and hold a chainsaw license and/or training for a lift.

As a person, you enjoy problem-solving, are structured, and good at prioritizing and making independent decisions. It is important that you enjoy contact with other people, are service-oriented, and have a good demeanor.

The job requires good physical condition as it can sometimes be physically demanding, especially during the summer months, and you should have good computer skills and master the Swedish language in both speech and writing.

We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities.

The position requires a valid B driver's license and access to your own car.

In the consulting and service administration, we provide support and service to the administrations in our areas of property, operations and service, food, IT, and administrative support services.

In connection with the interview, we will conduct an identity check and verify citizenship. Approved documents are passport, international ID card, driver's license + personal certificate from the Tax Agency, or other ID documents that strengthen citizenship. For some positions, a police record check may be required.

We welcome language skills in Finnish and/or any of the Sami varieties as Örnsköldsvik municipality is part of both Finnish and Sami administrative areas.

In our municipality, several positions are placed in security class, so a security review may take place. These positions require Swedish citizenship.
