We are now looking for a parish shepherd for Umeå Maria Congregation, which is a warm and vibrant congregation where the parish council, work teams, and volunteers work together to be a church in the Marie areas.

About the Job

As a parish shepherd, you will have many points of contact and interact with both the parish council, staff, management team, and the vicar. You will be actively involved in the parish life at Mariakyrkan and meet people at various stages of life. You will also be part of the parish's management team, with collegial exchange and good opportunities for collaboration in the mission to be a church in Umeå and surrounding areas. The role offers great opportunities to influence the development of the congregation and freedom in shaping the work. Many young families live in the area, and the congregation has a clear focus on prioritizing diaconal work, such as mental health issues and involuntary loneliness.

About You

You who are applying are ordained according to the Church of Sweden's order and are skilled at building and maintaining good relationships. You are confident and clear and have the ability to lead others. It is advantageous if you have experience in management and/or some form of leadership training. Experience with trust-based working methods is also advantageous but is not a requirement for the position. To thrive in the role and succeed in leading based on trust, we believe it is important that you have a humble attitude towards your leadership.
