Combat Control Officer at Jämtland Field Ranger Corps
The Västernorrland Regiment with the Jämtland Field Ranger Corps, I 21, was re-established in 2022. The unit operates in three locations: Sollefteå, Östersund, and Härnösand, and is responsible for training and maintaining two independent infantry battalions and a military base.
We are now looking for a Combat Control Officer to be stationed at the Jämtland Field Ranger Corps in Östersund.
About the position
As a Combat Control Officer, you will serve as a staff member in the training battalion's staff. The majority of your work will be conducted within a short time frame, requiring a high level of independence and collaboration with others.
As a Combat Control Officer, you will be responsible for:
- Planning, executing, and following up on the unit's activities
- Supporting the section's responsibility to ensure the unit's situational awareness is accurate and that emerging tasks are promptly processed and handled
- Leading preparations with other staff sections and then being responsible for breaking down and producing orders within the framework of live operations

Requirements
- Officer's degree
- Driving license B
- Previous military professional experience
Desirable
- Experience in unit training
- Previous staff work at battalion level
- Strong ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English
- Good knowledge of MS Office
- Experience in combat and indirect fire

Employment type: Military permanent full-time employment. The Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those not employed by the authority.
Work location: Östersund
Start date according to agreement.
Individual salary applies in the Armed Forces, and working hours are mostly scheduled during weekdays. The position may involve business trips and training at other locations. Participation in exercises may also result in absence and work being conducted outside regular working hours.

In 2022, the Västernorrland Regiment with the Jämtland Field Ranger Corps, I 21, was re-established. A new regiment with centuries-old traditions in Västernorrland and Jämtland. With us, you have the opportunity to be part of something unique, the re-establishment of a regiment in Lower Norrland.
I 21 currently operates in Sollefteå, Östersund, and Härnösand and is responsible for the Lower Norrland Garrison. In Sollefteå, there is the Regimental Staff (with personnel in both Sollefteå and Östersund) and the Ångermanland Infantry Battalion. In Östersund, there is the Jämtland Field Ranger Corps. Additionally, there are Garrison Support Units, Defense Health, and Logistics Units operating in Sollefteå, Östersund, and Härnösand.
At the Ångermanland Infantry Battalion and the Jämtland Field Ranger Corps, we train conscript soldiers for service in the new modern infantry under our proud motto “From mountains to sea, for the defense of Lower Norrland.”
