The Workplace

The Building and Environment Unit within the Community Development Department consists of a team of eight people. We are responsible for assessment and supervision in the areas of environment, construction, planning, food, and alcohol and tobacco supervision. We are a workplace with a high level of service, good pace, and great job satisfaction!

Our goal is to create a safe and sustainable environment for all residents while providing high-quality service and support to both businesses and individuals. The work involves many contacts with residents and entrepreneurs, but also with politicians and other officials in the municipality. We emphasize providing information and guidance to both businesses and individuals. We work closely together and help each other with current matters.

Your Responsibilities

We are looking for an environmental inspector who will work with supervision according to the Environmental Code and food legislation. As an environmental inspector, you will plan and conduct inspection visits to ensure that businesses comply with these laws. The work is varied and includes both office and fieldwork. You will inform businesses and the public about relevant rules and requirements. You will work both independently and in collaboration with your colleagues. We are a small unit where we support each other.

For the position, we aim to optimize the content of tasks for both environmental supervision and food supervision based on interest, competence, and the needs of the department. The work is diverse, and you have great opportunities to influence how the work is planned and conducted.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who appreciates a varied job that includes both office work and fieldwork. As an environmental inspector, you will have a lot of contact with entrepreneurs, the public, other authorities, and colleagues. You will be an important part of our workgroup and enjoy collaborating and contributing to a positive work environment. You are creative and analytical, willingly sharing your knowledge and contributing to a learning organization. Your ability to take responsibility and prioritize different tasks is crucial in the role of inspector. We highly value your personal qualities!

It may be an advantage to have an education with a scientific focus or other education and experience that the employer deems equivalent.

A valid B driver's license is required for the position.

The employment is a temporary position for 12 months with the possibility of extension.
