Administrative Manager for Gislaveds Parish

Do you want to lead and develop the collaborative work in a parish with breadth, commitment, and many meeting places?

We are now looking for an administrative manager who wants to be the hub of our collaborative work.

The position is a permanent full-time employment (100%).

Gislaveds Parish includes six congregations: Anderstorp, Burseryd, Gislaved, Norra Hestra, Villstad, and Västbo S:t Sigfrid. Geographically, the parish coincides with Gislaved Municipality.

As part of the Church of Sweden, we are a democratically structured organization with a clear mission – to celebrate worship, conduct teaching, and practice diaconal work and mission. We have 76 employees organized into nine teams. We believe that people grow together and that collaboration between teams is essential to fulfill the Church of Sweden's mission locally.

About the Role

The parish office provides support and service to all teams and to the parish's various councils of elected representatives. We aim to be the hub for financial and administrative support throughout the parish.

As the administrative manager, you will lead and develop this function. You are responsible for ensuring that the support to the operations is characterized by quality, structure, accessibility, and good service. The role involves creating order and clarity, but also building trust and good collaboration between teams, managers, and elected representatives.

Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Have operational, personnel, and budget responsibility for the office (currently five employees)
  • Have overall responsibility for HR issues within the parish
  • Provide support to other managers in labor law and personnel-related matters
  • Develop and ensure the quality of administrative processes
  • Act as a contact link to elected representatives to strengthen consensus and wholeness in the parish
  • Be part of the work and personnel committee, church council, and church assembly, and be responsible for preparing matters and decision-making materials
  • Be part of the pastor's management group and contribute to the strategic development of the parish

Your Profile and Leadership

You have relevant academic education and experience in qualified leadership with good competence in HR and labor law. You have a solid understanding of the Church of Sweden's faith, life, and teachings, as well as its democratic structure. You act confidently in the interaction between elected representatives and officials. Experience working within the Church of Sweden is an advantage.

As a leader, you are stable and clear, create structure without losing sight of the people, and build trust and consensus. You want to develop both the office and the entire parish together with others in the leadership.

A valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle are required.

Start Date

Start date by agreement.
