Adult Education - Teacher Position in Gotland

Adult Education

For several years, Adult Education has actively invested in vocational training for adults.

Today, we offer training in several professions, either independently or in collaboration with others. As a teacher, you will be part of a team with 17 other vocational teachers and three coordinators. You will also have a mentor who will help you with your introduction to the workplace and your job as a teacher with us.

In total, the adult education unit comprises about 80 employees, of which about 60 are educators.

Your Responsibilities

You will work with upper secondary adult education in workshop knowledge focusing on larger industrial companies, mechanical workshops, and forging companies in Gotland.

In this role, you will be part of a team responsible for educating students in basic tool handling, welding techniques, and the use of commonly used machines in the metal industry, such as lathes, milling machines, and similar equipment.

The education is conducted according to the Swedish National Agency for Education's upper secondary subjects. You will also actively participate in the development of the content and quality of the education in collaboration with colleagues and representatives from the business community in Gotland.

Who Are You?

You are preferably a trained vocational teacher, but if you do not have a teaching license today, there is an opportunity to obtain it in connection with the position. You have a basic education in the manufacturing industry with many years of professional experience. A B driver's license is required.

We are looking for someone with experience in mechanical workshop work. You are familiar with repairing machines, welding, and processing metal in various ways. You enjoy working together with others and passing on your knowledge.

You have good communication skills, both orally and in writing. We place great importance on personal suitability and are looking for someone with good collaboration and adaptability based on changing needs and conditions.

About the Education and Labor Administration

As part of Region Gotland, we contribute in the Education and Labor Administration to the learning and development of children, youth, and adults. We are responsible for, among other things, preschools, primary schools, after-school care, adapted primary and secondary schools, culture schools, upper secondary and adult education, labor market initiatives, youth centers, and the reception and establishment of newcomers. Together, we provide opportunities for lifelong learning.
