Part-time Workers Wanted at Matmissionen

Matmissionen is Stockholm City Mission's social grocery stores that do good for both people and the environment. The selection consists exclusively of products that are at risk of becoming waste and are donated by the grocery industry. With us, you contribute to reducing food waste and enable our members to shop for food at low prices. Matmissionen also helps people enter the workforce by offering a unique work training position as the only grocery chain run by the non-profit sector without profit motives.

Within Matmissionen, we have nine grocery stores and a central warehouse, and we are now looking for part-time workers with a focus on warehousing. The main tasks of the warehouse worker include unloading and loading trucks, operating forklifts, sorting goods, picking orders, and waste management.

The main task of the central warehouse is to supply Matmissionen stores and receiving social services with deliveries, but we also focus on work training and creating a welcoming and safe work environment for all individuals within the organization. We demand efficient routines but never forget that Matmissionen is a social enterprise where people are at the center, and tasks and pace should be adaptable to the individual.

All food handled within Matmissionen is donated surplus that would otherwise have been discarded. This means that we are somewhat dependent on random factors and rarely know in advance what goods are on the way - and the workflow of the organization varies from day to day, hour to hour. In all aspects, you will also instruct and coach individuals who are in work training.

The warehouse is located in Brunna in Kungsängen. We are looking for someone who:

• Identifies with the values of Stockholm City Mission
• Enjoys working with other people
• Is flexible and can step in at short notice
• Is used to taking responsibility and initiating actions within given frameworks
• Is meticulous, patient, and stress-resistant
• Speaks fluent Swedish, and preferably additional languages

We prefer candidates with a B driver's license and primarily seek individuals who can work daytime on weekdays.

We place great importance on personal qualities and your ability to handle physical work. It is advantageous if you have previously worked in a warehouse/grocery store with food.
