JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

About the role

As Deputy Social Director, you are the closest colleague to the Social Director with a clear mandate to oversee the implementation of strategic and political decisions into concrete actions, drive development forward, and ensure that the operations deliver according to set goals. You will replace the Social Director in their absence.

The social services in Sollefteå Municipality encompass elderly care, support for people with disabilities, municipal health and medical care, as well as individual and family care, including the labor market unit – a complex and meaningful operation that affects people of all ages and life situations.

Your mission

You have overall responsibility for ensuring that decisions and strategies are effectively implemented and yield results. You drive results by leading the implementation, coordinating the managers within the management team, and ensuring that the entire social services and health care work towards common goals.

Your main areas of responsibility:

• Ensure that decisions and strategies are implemented and have the intended effect throughout the organization
• Drive and lead change and development work from decision to actual results
• Follow up and ensure that the operational managers meet set goals regarding quality, efficiency, and results
• Create coordination and collaboration between operational areas to achieve coherence and synergy effects
• Support and challenge operational managers in implementation, follow-up, and development
• Ensure appropriate and efficient resource utilization
• Conduct qualified investigations and write statements and responses to referrals, motions, and citizen proposals

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who

• Has a university degree in a relevant field, or other experience deemed equivalent
• Has good knowledge of the areas of social services and legislation
• Has experience in management and leadership in a politically governed organization
• Has the ability to drive and implement development and change projects
• As a leader, you are confident, clear, and engaging. You easily create participation and commitment, are pedagogical in your leadership, and enjoy taking significant personal responsibility. You work in a structured manner, are innovative, and have a strong ability to drive issues forward and deliver results.
