There is now an opportunity to apply for a position as an assistive technology technician where you will work with the reconditioning of medical technology products in one of our teams at the Assistive Technology Center in Jönköping!

The Role of Assistive Technology Technician

You will work with reconditioning (inspection, restoration, and cleaning) of medical technology products within the category of treatment aids, such as pain pumps. At the Assistive Technology Center, we provide specialist knowledge and assistive devices to our entire region. Every day, 3-4 trucks with assistive devices leave our loading dock. This can involve assistive devices for mobility, communication, medication, or home care.

In this role, you will work with reconditioning, which includes inspection, restoration, and cleaning of medical technology products within the category of treatment aids. This includes pain pumps, TENS devices, CPAP ("snoring machines"), cough machines, and nutrition pumps. The work also includes some preventive maintenance on the devices, and in connection with this, you will travel to patients within Jönköping County to exchange their equipment.

After a while, you will become a technical resource for the entire team. This means that you will also work with the reconditioning of communication and cognition aids, such as aids for time, structure, and planning, as well as welfare technology. This work requires the ability and interest in digital aids, such as tablets, computers, GPS technology, etc., as you will be making adaptations and troubleshooting.

You will work in a team consisting of a speech therapist, occupational therapist, assistive technology technician, process leader, and nurse. Within the team, you are expected to work independently, collaborate on certain tasks, and assist with various tasks as needed.

The position is a permanent full-time employment with a start date to be agreed upon. We work Monday to Friday, and our working hours are from 07:30 to 16:00 with the possibility of flexible hours.

The Assistive Technology Center is a regional specialist unit. Our target groups are individuals with motor, communication, cognitive, and medical disabilities. We are about 70 employees responsible for advice, assessment, logistics, and service regarding assistive devices, as well as training prescribers. Our operations cover Region Jönköping County and all municipalities in the county. 25,000 people in our county have assistive devices from the Assistive Technology Center.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone with a high school education or equivalent, preferably with a focus on technology or healthcare. You have experience in a role where you have demonstrated the ability to work independently and efficiently. If you have experience from a role with similar tasks to those of the assistive technology technician, it may be an advantage, but it is not a requirement for the position. You are very comfortable using a computer as a working tool and have the ability to understand and manage several different software and applications. You have practical skills and find it easy to handle technical products.

As a person, you enjoy taking responsibility for your work while also being able to collaborate easily. You have a sense of structure and order. It is very important that you are meticulous and quality-conscious since we work with medical technology products. A good attitude and a strong sense of service are also important.

You need to have good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form for this position. Since travel to patients within the county is required, a valid driver's license (B) is a requirement.
