Air Traffic Controllers Wanted for ATS Umeå

Do you want to contribute your expertise as an air traffic controller? We are currently seeking two air traffic controllers for intermittent employment at ATS Umeå.

The mission of the Remote Tower Center Stockholm is to provide air traffic control services remotely for the four Swedavia airports: Kiruna Airport, Åre Östersund Airport, Umeå Airport, and Malmö Airport.

The work is intensive within the framework of RTC, involving ongoing operations of ATS Kiruna, ATS Östersund, ATS Umeå, and ATS Sturup, as well as planning and training of students, dual-qualified controllers, and full operation of ATS Sturup from RTC Stockholm.

Your Role

You will work as an operational air traffic controller at RTC Stockholm with local authority at ATS Umeå. Since the operations are regulated, you will always be responsible for staying updated and following applicable regulations and guidelines. In your position as an operational air traffic controller, you will participate in established activities, operational and training days, ATS meetings, and competency assurance programs.

In the role of air traffic controller at LFV, you will also serve as OJTI, both locally and on EPN, as well as in LFV's training operations. We also utilize operational expertise in various projects and activities, which means that tasks outside of the operational role may also be relevant. You prioritize flight safety and work to contribute to a good working environment.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who:

• Works as/has worked as an operational air traffic controller and holds an air traffic controller certificate with authorization for work in TWR with associated TMA.
• Holds a valid Class 3 medical certificate.
• Has held authorization at ATS Umeå for the last 6 months.
• Has good knowledge of both Swedish and English.

Employment

The position is an intermittent employment from as soon as possible until August 31, 2026, based at RTC Stockholm. Work will be scheduled by agreement between the employer and employee. Before employment, we will conduct a security review that includes a background check, security interview, and drug test.
