We are now looking for a Retail Sales Assistant/Optical Assistant to be part of our team at Specsavers Backaplan. The position is primarily scheduled in the store at Backaplan, but work may also occur in our store in Torslanda, which is owned by the same owner. The position is an 80% permanent employment that starts with a 6-month probation period. The start date for the position is immediate or as agreed.
Our opening hours at Backaplan are: weekdays 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM and Saturdays 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM. You are expected to work according to a rolling schedule, which includes shifts on weekdays and approximately every other Saturday.
Your responsibilities include:
We do not expect you to have any previous experience in optics, although it is an advantage. You will participate in a comprehensive introductory course (practical training in-store combined with digital courses) where you will learn everything about the optical industry and how we work. After the course, you will be the expert that customers meet in our store at Backaplan. This means that you:
- Welcome customers, explain why it is so important to have an eye examination, and clarify our concept and offers
- Help customers find the right frames, lenses, and/or contact lenses – based on the optician's recommendations
- Ensure customers leave the store with a smile on their faces – and that they are eager to return
- Be an ambassador for Specsavers' goal of making better eye health accessible to everyone
- Be a driven and hardworking person who enjoys challenges
- Be social and have an easy time making new contacts
- Have experience in retail, but it is not a requirement
- Consider yourself flexible and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Have good knowledge of Swedish and English in both spoken and written form. It is an advantage if you speak other languages such as Arabic, Hindi, Spanish, or sign language.
