About the position

The Community Administration within Härnösand Municipality consists of five departments that together are responsible for a range of areas within community building. Urban planning, processing building permits, planning and operation of nature and outdoor areas, supervision according to the Environmental Code and other legislation, as well as the operation and development of streets and parks are some of the issues we are responsible for. We work together to create a sustainable community today and for future generations.

We are eight employees in the Environmental Department where we are responsible for supervision under the Environmental Code, food legislation, as well as alcohol, tobacco, and certain pharmaceuticals. We often work together in different groups to learn from each other and conduct some supervision together.

We are now looking forward to welcoming a curious, engaged, and service-oriented person who wants to work with supervision in the food area for a longer temporary position!

Job Responsibilities

As a case officer, you will work with supervision according to food legislation. If you have knowledge and experience in other supervision areas, the position may be adapted accordingly.

The work includes supervision of businesses, writing reports, following up, and planning supervision. You will also follow up on complaints and investigate suspected food poisoning, as well as provide advice and information to businesses and the public. We use the case management system EDP Vision for documentation and follow-up.

We offer you the opportunity to work in a developing case officer position with many outward-facing contacts and to be an important factor for our entrepreneurs.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a university degree in environmental and health protection, food safety, or other relevant education that the employer deems equivalent. You may also have acquired knowledge through work experience in the field. Previous work as a food inspector is advantageous, as is academic education in food science or microbiology.

As we work with public authority exercise, it is important that you can express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish, have good computer skills, and understand your role as a public authority representative.

You must also have a driver's license. We have access to environmental cars and e-bikes.

To succeed in the role, it is important that you have a pedagogical and solution-oriented approach in your public authority exercise. Since a large part of our work involves contact between authorities and entrepreneurs, citizens, and other authorities, you need to communicate clearly, professionally, and factually with entrepreneurs. As a person, you are confident, structured, and service-oriented with the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively. Setting and adhering to deadlines, as well as the ability to work independently and take responsibility, is important in our organization.

We place great emphasis on your personal qualities.
