RESPONSIBILITIES

The position requires:

  • The ability to see the big picture and
  • The ability to analyze details and demonstrate causal relationships.
  • Deep academic knowledge and broad understanding of the conditions of aquaculture and fish.
  • Knowledge and experience of the EU's Common Fisheries Policy, especially the support for blue industries through (current and plans for future) EU funds.

The tasks mainly consist of analyzing and proposing regulations and projects to improve the conditions for blue industries. This occurs both individually and in close collaboration with colleagues, other authorities, applied research, and industries. A key task is to prepare for the upcoming program period for the EU fund for national regional partnership plans where measures for fisheries policy will be included. The overall goal of the position is to produce qualified knowledge bases necessary to contribute to the development and creation of an effective and viable aquaculture and fishing industry in Sweden.

QUALIFICATIONS

The position requires:

  • Attention to detail and skills in performing qualified analysis.
  • The ability to be self-driven and prioritize independently within the framework of set goals.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to instill confidence in dialogue with collaborating actors and colleagues.
  • A good ability to collaborate and a positive attitude combined with critical thinking.

Curiosity, helpfulness, and a holistic view are important abilities for our work.

A university degree is required for the position, preferably a doctorate in aquaculture. You have excellent skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written. Experience in national and international aquaculture, research, and management is advantageous. Experience working agile and according to lean principles is also advantageous.

The place of employment is Jönköping with the possibility to work part of the time remotely.
