Training Employment for Specialist Nurse within Region Kalmar County

As a nurse within Region Kalmar County, you have the opportunity to further your education through a training employment.

A training employment means that you study to become a specialist nurse while retaining your base salary. You will be permanently employed in the department where you will then work as a qualified specialist nurse.

When applying for a training employment, you also need to apply for the specialist nursing education via www.antagning.se (http://www.antagning.se). The deadline for applications to the specialist nursing education in anesthesiology starting in the autumn term of 2026 is March 16.

An offer for training employment can only be made once you have been accepted into the program.

Your Future Workplace

The Central Operations Department is part of the Anesthesia and Intensive Care Clinic at Kalmar County Hospital and consists of three sections: surgery, orthopedics, and a specialty section. The Central Operations has 15 operating rooms and we serve specialties including general surgery, urology, gynecology, obstetrics, ear-nose-throat surgery, dental/oral surgery, ophthalmology, and medical care. We also work with robotic surgery. The unit operates approximately 10,000 patients annually and we have about 120 employees.

Kalmar County Hospital is one of three hospitals in Kalmar County. The hospital is an emergency hospital with specialist care, maternity care, and postnatal care. Over 2,300 people work here to provide good care and high patient safety to the county's residents. Our employees' continuous development efforts lead to good results in several national measurements. The hospital is located near Kalmar city center and Kalmarsund.
