Your role

As a dry deposit engineer, you will be part of the Malmberget Dam, Media, and Transport section, which serves as a support function to the production operations in Malmberget. The role is close to operations with a strong focus on coordination, monitoring, and management of the deposition of side rock in daily work.

You will be responsible for controlling the mass balance within the operational area, what can be deposited, where, and how. The work is carried out in close collaboration with the transport operations and other relevant functions. The job involves regular field presence, where you monitor deposition, stockpiles, and flows, while ensuring correct documentation and compliance with environmental permits. The role also utilizes high-tech tools, such as drones and digital monitoring systems, to effectively follow up and develop work methods.

Main responsibilities

• Be responsible for mass balance as well as long-term planning and monitoring of the deposition of side rock
• Ensure, in collaboration with relevant functions, that deposition occurs in accordance with environmental permits and produce follow-up data and regulatory documentation
• Map and manage documentation of stockpiles, deposition sites, and voids, and conduct capacity assessments in collaboration with rock mechanics
• Drive and participate in development work related to deposition, transport, dust, noise, and other environmental and operational issues
• Contribute to securing long-term deposition capacity and developing effective and sustainable deposition methods, including participation in and leadership of smaller projects

What you bring with you

We are looking for someone with a structured approach, good analytical skills, and who enjoys a role where you collaborate with many different functions. You are proactive, solution-oriented, and have an easy time communicating and creating consensus on issues related to planning, technology, and the environment.

We would like you to have:

• An engineering degree in areas such as mining, geology, environmental, water, land, or construction engineering, or other relevant technical education combined with experience deemed equivalent by the employer
• Good ability to work systematically with data, analyses, and technical documentation
• Proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written
• A valid driver's license (B), which is a requirement for all positions at LKAB

Meritorious:

• Experience from mining, construction, or mass handling operations
• Experience in deposition, mass flows, logistics, or transport planning
• Experience working on projects or development assignments
