Study a Specialist Training and Earn a Salary!

Region Halland is looking for you who currently work as a nurse and want to develop by furthering your education to become a midwife.

Training Employment

We offer you a training employment which means that you study to become a midwife with a salary and receive a position at a designated workplace at Hallands Hospital in Halmstad or Varberg. Here you will then work as a qualified midwife after completing your education.

A training employment can be granted for full-time or part-time study pace. Distance education is also included as a study form.

Regarding clinical placements (VFU), it is the respective educational institution that coordinates and distributes VFU placements. Contact the relevant educational institution for more information about the distribution of VFU placements and which location may be relevant for your placements.

Qualifications

To apply for training employment, you must be a licensed nurse with at least two years of work experience as a nurse within Swedish healthcare. Additionally, you must be accepted into the education at an educational institution.

If you are interested, you must apply for specialist training with the relevant focus at the current university/college. You register/apply for the education at www.antagning.se (https://www.antagning.se).

PLEASE NOTE that most educational institutions have an application period from February 16 to March 16 for specialist nursing programs.

You need to be flexible and feel confident working independently and taking your own initiatives, have an easy time collaborating, and possess a good ability to work in a team. Additionally, your interaction with patients and colleagues should be professional.

Women's Clinic

The Women's Clinic in Halland has maternity wards in both Halmstad and Varberg and gynecological services in Varberg, Halmstad, and Kungsbacka.
