We are looking for a specialist nurse in psychiatry, or alternatively a registered nurse with experience in psychiatric care.

Job Responsibilities

The responsibilities consist of standard nursing work within psychiatric care. With us, you will work in a multidisciplinary team alongside doctors, nurses, and caregivers. As a nurse, you will lead and delegate work within the team and be responsible for patient care. You will work closely with patients, collaborate with other stakeholders, and contribute to making a real difference for those cared for in the department.

Working Hours

The position is scheduled during the day with work every fifth weekend. The job includes day, evening, and weekend work according to an EU-adapted schedule with 11-hour rest periods. For this specific position, we are looking for a nurse who works during the day, as daytime reinforcement contributes to increased structure, stability, and continuity in the department's patient safety work and creates better conditions for administrative tasks to function well. Should the needs of the operation change, the position may transition to work according to a schedule, after prior notice.

About Us

The addiction care at Södra Älvsborg Hospital consists of an inpatient department and an outpatient clinic that collaborates closely. The Psychiatry Department 2 and Addiction Psychiatry Clinic are led by a unit manager and are part of the same care chain – a step towards developing integrated care.

The patients we care for often have addiction issues and other serious psychiatric diagnoses. We provide care according to HSL, LPT, and LVM while waiting for other placements. The department collaborates with specialist psychiatric outpatient clinics, social services, and primary care. We strive to provide our patients with meaningful care of high quality and high patient safety.

In our new facilities, we work towards a vision of zero tolerance regarding threats and violence as well as coercive measures. We work with low-arousal approaches and aim to provide top-class psychiatric care.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone with a Swedish nursing license and at least four months of experience in the profession. Experience in psychiatric care and/or being a specialist nurse in psychiatry with experience in addiction care is advantageous for the position.

We see that you have a strong interest in working person-centered based on mission and values. You have a positive, flexible, and pedagogical approach with a high degree of professionalism. We also see that you have a good ability to work both independently and in a team. Furthermore, we want you to be responsible and have a drive to improve specialist psychiatric care based on innovative and creative ideas. You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and are ready for all kinds of challenges. You should be a team player with a twinkle in your eye, who knows the importance of collaboration and communication.
