At Växa, you will work in an organization with strong expertise in many areas related to dairy and beef production. You will be part of our knowledge and development department where we work together on disease control, animal welfare, and animal health. We run our own projects and also collaborate with researchers, other companies and organizations, as well as government agencies. An important function is to serve as a knowledge support to veterinarians, advisors, and dairy and beef producers.

About the role

To fit into the role, we believe you are a veterinarian with experience and interest in cattle and animal health consulting, including disease control. You will help develop and drive our national disease control programs together with an engaged team with broad expertise. The work involves both independent and team-based expert functions with colleagues.

You will drive your own development projects and serve as knowledge support primarily to our field veterinarians, but also to production advisors and farmers. In this role, you will have the opportunity to influence your work, and there will be good opportunities for further development within disease control.

In this position, you will:

• Develop and manage our various services, digital tools, and programs for disease control and monitoring of infectious animal diseases
• Produce knowledge and advisory materials within the disease control area and be a knowledge support to veterinarians and other advisors working directly with animal keepers
• Develop and communicate knowledge about disease control, internally within Växa and externally to various target groups. You will also participate in our external course activities
• Initiate and drive projects, including writing applications and reporting to clients and research funders

The position can be partially adapted based on your previous experiences, competencies, and areas of interest. The role also involves a certain number of trips per year, both nationally and internationally, to participate in meetings, conferences, and field studies.

Your profile

You have experience in herd work within the cattle sector, or with other agricultural animals. A good ability to communicate to different target groups in speech and writing is a prerequisite for thriving in the role. We also place great importance on your personal drive and are looking for someone with a strong commitment to animal health and sustainable agriculture. You are self-driven and can initiate, lead, and drive your own projects.

Requirements

• Veterinary degree and at least 2 years of work experience in a relevant field
• Swedish veterinary license
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English
• Driving license B

Meritorious

• Experience in clinical work with cattle or other agricultural animals
• Experience in animal health consulting
• Experience working with disease control issues
• Experience in project management
• Research education in a relevant field
