Job Responsibilities

As a service assistant, you will be employed by the Competence Supply Unit but will perform your shifts in one of our operations, either in home care or in care and nursing homes. Read more here (https://www.ornskoldsvik.se/marknad/jobba-med-oss/jobba-med-oss/team-valfard---med-och-for-manniskor)

Regular/temporary caregivers and nursing assistants will perform care-related tasks. Your role is to perform social tasks and other related tasks, which may vary depending on whether you work in regular housing or special housing.

Examples of tasks in regular housing:

• Social activation, outdoor activities, and walks
• Meal support
• Companion
• Escorting
• Light cleaning tasks
• Laundry and clothing care
• Purchasing for users, errands, and communication support
• Delivery of meal trays
• Restocking supplies in the unit's storage

Examples of tasks in special housing:

• Social interaction and activities in common areas (e.g., reading newspapers, chatting, or playing games)
• “Coffee responsible”, setting up for meals and coffee breaks
• Outdoor activities and walks
• Light kitchen duties
• Cleaning in the unit (apartments and common areas)
• Making beds
• Laundry and clothing care
• Cleaning assistive devices (wheelchairs, walkers, etc.)
• Restocking supplies in the unit's storage
• Minor purchases for users
• Keeping outdoor areas, balconies, and patios tidy

Qualifications

We believe you are responsible, have good communication skills, and are attentive to users, relatives, and colleagues. You are flexible in changing circumstances and can work both independently and collaboratively. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. In some operations, a driver's license and access to a car are required.

For the job, you need to be able to handle the Swedish language in both spoken and written form.

In regular housing, you can work as a service assistant if you are 18 years or older.

In special housing, you can work as a service assistant if you are 17 years or older.

During the interview, we will conduct an identity check and verify citizenship. Approved documents include Passport, International ID card, Driver's license + personal certificate from the tax office, or other ID documents that strengthen citizenship.

We welcome language skills in Finnish and/or any of the Sámi varieties as Örnsköldsvik Municipality is part of both Finnish and Sámi administrative areas.

In our municipality, a number of positions are classified in security class, so a security check may be conducted. These positions require Swedish citizenship.
