Assistant Housekeeper at Marstrands Havshotell
Do you want to work in one of the most beautiful places on the west coast and contribute to a warm, welcoming hotel experience?
Marstrands Havshotell is now seeking a dedicated Assistant Housekeeper who wants to help create world-class comfort for both guests and colleagues.
About the position
As an Assistant Housekeeper, you are a key person in the hotel’s housekeeping operations. You work closely with the head housekeeper and are involved in both daily operations and long-term planning, with responsibility for quality, structure, and efficiency.
The role is operational and leading – you combine practical work with coordination and follow-up of the team and routines, stepping in as a substitute during the head housekeeper's longer absence. The position includes access to a computer and work phone as tools, but is fundamentally not desk work. You lead and work alongside the team in operations, where presence and engagement are crucial.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Planning and daily coordination of work together with the head housekeeper, including scheduling and task distribution
- Leading and supporting the team during shifts, holding morning meetings, and ensuring that routines are followed
- Operational work in the form of cleaning hotel rooms and common areas, as well as restaurant/dining and SPA when needed
- Responsible for handling and washing cleaning materials and organizing linens and towels
- Ordering and following up on consumables
- Active work in the operational system Visbook, with good knowledge of the booking situation
- Ongoing collaboration with other departments, such as reception and service, to optimize the guest experience
- Planning and executing the restoration of premises after events, together with the head housekeeper
- Conducting quality checks of rooms, premises, and common areas and following up on deviations
- Working systematically with improvement measures related to guest satisfaction and driving your own improvement initiatives
- Following up on guest surveys in Loopon and translating results into concrete actions
- Planning and driving projects such as deep cleaning of hotel rooms and public areas
- Responsible for training and onboarding new staff and follow-up
- Establishing and following up on routines and ensuring compliance
- Following up on the budget for purchases and work hours together with the head housekeeper
- Responsible for the minibar inventory and stocktaking
- Ensuring order and structure in the cleaning supply room together with the team
- Reporting faults and deficiencies continuously via Visbook
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience from similar tasks within hotels, cleaning, or service.
- Is meticulous, responsible, and has the ability to see the big picture.
- Is a positive leader who motivates the team by leading by example.
- Is structured and solution-oriented.
- Has a B driver's license and access to a car, as weekend work requires flexibility in transportation.
- Enjoys physical work and has good basic fitness – you are not afraid to use your body in the job.
- Thrives in a dynamic environment where flexibility and collaboration are natural.
- Is hands-on, enjoys operations, and has a clear understanding that daily operations must always be prioritized.
- Is proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written.
- Has basic computer skills, such as handling email, internet, and simple programs like Word or Excel.
We offer
- A unique work environment by the sea, in the heart of beautiful Marstrand.
- A warm and dedicated team where we help and support each other.
- A significant role where you actively contribute to creating an unforgettable guest experience.
- A stimulating job in an inspiring environment – perfect for you who want to grow, whether you are new to the industry or have previous experience.
- Staff activities and a strong sense of community.
- Benefits such as staff discounts on both food and accommodation.
- Free access to the gym and training opportunities.
- And last but not least – magical sunsets over Marstrand that must be experienced to be understood.
The position is a permanent full-time (100%) employment with an initial probationary period. Working hours are mainly during the day, both weekdays and weekends, but evening work may occur if needed. Salary and employment conditions according to the HRF agreement. Start date according to agreement, preferably as soon as possible.
At Marstrands Havshotell, we value joy at work, community, and professionalism. In accordance with our core value "together", we help each other across boundaries to create a well-functioning, sustainable, and pleasant workplace.
