Your tasks

As a Gardener, you will be responsible for gardening work throughout Linköping Municipality. The tasks include planting and caring for spring, summer, and autumn flowers as well as watering. Bulb harvesting and planting are also part of the job, which involves a lot of work close to the ground and working on your knees. In addition to plant care, you will work to keep our recycling stations clean and welcoming. This involves ongoing cleaning as well as specific maintenance work during the spring and autumn seasons. The role also includes physically demanding tasks such as weeding, soil cultivation, and assembling and disassembling hanging baskets and railing boxes.

The assignment also includes mentoring participants who are in a labor market initiative. You support and motivate them in all relevant tasks.

Your workplace

At the Integration and Labor Market Administration, approximately 350 employees work in the departments of labor and welfare and labor market initiatives. This position belongs to the department of labor market initiatives. We are responsible for ensuring that Linköping Municipality provides relevant labor market initiatives and for conducting operations based on OSA (publicly protected employment). The main task is to work on the development of individuals in a labor market initiative. The ultimate goal is to move on to studies or work, with or without support, in the regular labor market.

We are now looking for two Gardeners for the spring and summer season of 2026. You will be based in the facilities of the Garden Society, and the workplace will be in various locations throughout the municipality. Working hours are primarily during the day on weekdays, but weekend work may occur.

Who you are

We are looking for someone who has a completed and approved high school education. If you have gardening education, lift training, and training in Work on the Road, it is considered an advantage. We require practical experience in outdoor maintenance, gardening, cleaning work, and/or street/park care. Experience in mentoring others in their work is also considered an advantage.

As a Gardener, you will have contact with various stakeholders and will work with some documentation, which means that good Swedish skills in both speech and writing are a requirement. You need to have a B driver's license for a manual transmission as driving is frequent in the position. It is advantageous if you have experience driving a car with a trailer. We require that you have gardening knowledge that the employer deems relevant.

You have good collaboration skills, an interest and willingness to help others, and see opportunities in changes. You are self-driven and have a good ability to structure your work. In the job, you will meet people from different cultures, and we therefore see that you value differences and diversity. You enjoy working with other people and contribute to a good collaborative climate.
