Vacancy for a Vacuum Truck Driver at Mjölby Municipality

The Community Building Administration is one of the six administrations of Mjölby Municipality, responsible for several central community functions. With approximately 450 employees, we work on planning, developing, and managing the municipality's infrastructure, properties, parks, and outdoor environments. The administration is also responsible for water and sewage operations, waste management, meal services, cleaning, and emergency services.

Our vacuum truck driver has chosen to retire this summer, and we are now looking for his replacement.

You will belong to the Street-Park Department within the Community Building Administration. Together, the department's approximately 60 employees perform operations and maintenance of streets, pedestrian and bicycle paths, parks, property land, green areas, and other public places. We have our own workshop/storage unit. We also carry out construction work in-house, which includes maintenance of the utility networks where you will be placed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

This is how you contribute in the role of vacuum truck driver.

With us, you will have an independent and varied job where you drive a vacuum truck and a load carrier. At the same time, you will become part of a supportive team with helpful and knowledgeable colleagues.

You will work with flushing and maintenance of utility networks, emptying of street drains, and other assignments within the municipality. Your driving will take place within Mjölby Municipality. You will also drive our load carriers during emergency work such as snow removal, salting, etc.

You will start each morning from our facility on Ramstadgatan in Mjölby.

You are responsible for the inspection, daily supervision, and maintenance of your vehicle, and we ensure that you have the right conditions to do a good job.

Your main working hours are during the day, but you will also be part of our on-call group, which may involve work during other hours of the day. The on-call duty is year-round and operates according to a schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for an experienced driver with a C driver's license, preferably with experience in transport or contracting. Proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written, is a requirement. You must have YKB (professional competence certificate) and work on the road.

We consider it an advantage to have:

• CE license
• experience in reading blueprints
• experience as a sludge and vacuum truck driver
• experience in the environmental service industry
• experience working in the water and sewage bank

You can plan and organize your work well. You are comfortable using digital tools. You easily set goals, organize resources, follow up, and complete activities.

As a person, you are confident, stable, and have good self-awareness with the ability to distinguish between personal and professional matters. In meetings with customers and colleagues, you approach others in a calm, service-oriented, and accommodating manner, always willing to help and find effective solutions. You are attentive and collaborate well with others, handling situations and potential conflicts constructively. The role requires you to be self-reliant and take responsibility for your tasks.
