Alsters Herrgård - Gustaf Fröding's memorial estate consists of several buildings with an accompanying manor park and close proximity to hiking trails, beach baths, and birdwatching towers.

Here, there is a manor café that serves lunch and homemade pastries every day during the high season and several other activities such as an art gallery, manor shop, craft and handicraft shop, as well as the Värmland County Handicraft Association's exhibition premises. In the Fröding floor, daily tours are normally offered during the high season.

In preparation for summer 2026, we are looking for several guides for Alsters Herrgård - Gustaf Fröding's memorial estate. The positions are part-time (approximately 50%) from May to September, with hours in April for introduction and training. We are primarily looking for guides who can work the entire season and not just parts of it.

Job Responsibilities

The job responsibilities include guiding about Gustaf Fröding and/or in the manor park, as well as managing the shop/information. This includes hospitality, receiving bookings, and shop sales. A large part of the work involves administration as the guides are involved in bookings and incoming inquiries to Alsters Herrgård.

Qualifications

To thrive in this job, we believe you are:

• cheerful and service-oriented, preferably with experience in service jobs, as the work involves a lot of customer contact and we want all our visitors to feel welcome and well taken care of. Hospitality is of utmost importance.
• interested in literature or similar within the cultural field and have studied at the university level or equivalent.
• a good storyteller who enjoys speaking in front of a group, as the tours are a large and important part of the operation.
• structured, solution-focused, and flexible as the administrative work involves keeping track of many things at the same time with several incoming channels and multiple participating actors.
• interested in culture in Värmland and tourism, as the shop functions as tourist information.
