Driver for the Swedish Armed Forces

Do you want to contribute your knowledge to an important societal mission? The Swedish Armed Forces is in an expansion phase and is now looking for new employees. We are looking for an experienced driver who enjoys challenging tasks and varied workdays.

The Armed Forces' Telecommunications and Information Systems Unit, FMTIS, has the main task of managing the operation and maintenance of command support systems at all readiness levels both nationally and internationally.

Main Responsibilities

As a driver with us at FMTIS, you will support the unit with services in warehouse and cargo handling. You will transport materials, supplies, and various loads and goods. You will work on conducting and evaluating transports both individually and together with your workgroup. You will also work on vehicle maintenance.

As a driver with us, you will have a varied workday with longer and shorter drives. You will work to create good relationships with customers and participate in the unit's development.

The job can be very physically demanding at times and requires you to be in good physical shape.

Qualifications

  • Approved high school education
  • Experience in logistics and transport services
  • CE driver's license
  • Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English

Meritorious

  • Experience in logistics and transport services in the Armed Forces
  • Completed military service, GMU, or voluntary activities
  • D and DE driver's licenses
  • Military driver's license
  • Experience with Tank Trucks
  • Forklift license (A1, A2, A3, B1, B2, B3, C2, C7)
  • YKB
  • Cranes training
  • ADR

Personal Characteristics

We are looking for someone who is service-oriented and focused on delivering materials to customers on time and with quality awareness. You are highly aware of safety both regarding vehicle operation and in terms of protected values. As a person, you appreciate having varied workdays with the opportunity to influence your own workday. You are solution-focused and see what needs to be done. You have a good ability to work both independently and together in the workgroup, and you have the ability to prioritize when the work demands it. You have a good demeanor and high service spirit towards customers and care about maintaining good customer relationships. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Other

The position is a permanent civilian employment. The Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those who are not employed by the authority. The workplace is Örebro and travel may occur in the job. You may also work irregular hours.

Start date by agreement.

The unit has a collective responsibility for the Armed Forces' technical command systems that support military operations at sea, on land, and in the air - in Sweden and abroad. An employment with us means placement in a security class. Usually, Swedish citizenship is required. A security review with a background check will be conducted before employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act.
