Now Hiring Cemetery Workers for the Summer Season 2026

The application is now open for those aged 18 and older to apply for summer jobs for the 2026 season at one of our cemeteries in Holmsund Parish – Holmsund and Obbola cemeteries.

As a seasonal cemetery worker, you will help care for the parish's two cemeteries in Holmsund and Obbola. A cultural heritage that encompasses both history and the present.

You must be at least 18 years old by the start date of employment and have good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form.

The season runs from May 4 to October 31, and in your application, please indicate from which date within this period you can start and until which date you can work. Attach a personal letter and CV.

Job Responsibilities:

The job includes cemetery maintenance such as mowing, trimming, weeding, planting flowers, hedge trimming, restoring gravel paths, and other related park work. You may also perform other practical tasks such as operating heavy machinery, pressure washing, and other gardening equipment if you have the necessary qualifications and training. Some supervision of seasonal youth workers and summer employees may also be included.

Qualifications:

Gardening education or equivalent knowledge through work experience. If you do not have formal education or experience but have the interest and willingness to learn, you are also welcome to apply!

We are looking for someone who is committed, meticulous, punctual, and has the ability to work both independently and in a team, as well as the desire to be a role model for others.

You also need to have good physical fitness as the work can be physically demanding at times. We work outdoors regardless of the weather.

We place great importance on personal suitability and the ability to collaborate with others. Working in the cemetery involves interactions with visitors, so we value good social skills and a professional and humble approach.

Desirable:

• Driver's license (B)
• Qualifications and familiarity with common machinery used in gardening and landscaping, e.g., riding lawnmowers, loaders, brush cutters.
