The Armed Forces (FM) and the Local Planning Units (LplE) are growing, and we are now looking for someone who wants to contribute to the development of the Armed Forces' infrastructure.

About the Unit

The Local Planning Unit South (LplE Syd) belongs to the Marine Base and constitutes the Armed Forces' ordering competence regarding land and premises towards the Fortifications Agency. We support the Armed Forces' open operations within the military region south (MR Syd), which includes Östergötland, Småland, Öland, Blekinge, and Skåne. LplE Syd is functionally led by the Headquarters Defense Staff and works with planning, maintenance, procurement, and decommissioning of properties. The Armed Forces is an authority in strong growth, which also affects the infrastructure function where the units are in continuous development. The Local Planning Unit in the south will consist of 25–30 employees by 2026 and will be divided into three geographical departments led from the locations of Karlskrona, Eksjö, and Revingehed. Together, the unit has broad knowledge within real estate built on various educational backgrounds and experiences.

Main Responsibilities

In the role of Deputy Unit Manager, you will be highly involved in the infra-process for physical infrastructure, such as shooting ranges, barracks, storage facilities, military airfields, and ports within MR Syd.

  • You will lead and follow up on the operational activities within the unit and coordinate and follow up on the systematic work environment efforts.
  • Along with the unit manager, you will have overall responsibility for common governing documents, the unit's operational overview, planning, implementation, and development of the unit's activities, which includes the subprocesses Procurement, Maintenance, Decommissioning, and Garrison Planning.
  • You will share personnel responsibility with the unit manager.
  • You will be part of the unit's management team together with the unit manager and department heads.
  • You will represent the head of LplE Syd both to internal and external organizations at central, regional, and local levels.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Relevant higher education within the described work area or other education/experience that the employer deems equivalent.
  • Several years of current and relevant documented experience in personnel management.
  • Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish both orally and in writing.
  • Driving license B manual transmission.
  • Good computer skills (Office package).

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

DESIRABLE

  • Previous service in the Armed Forces within the FM infrastructure process, operational management, and project management.
  • Experience in a position with personnel responsibility in a government agency or public sector.

Other

The employment form is a permanent position that begins with a six-month probationary period for those not currently employed by the Armed Forces. Place of employment: Karlskrona.

Start date according to agreement.

Business travel may occur.

The position is open for both civil servants and professional officers (OF3).

The Armed Forces are undergoing extensive development work to build a stronger defense in light of a deteriorating security situation and new defense policy direction focusing on national defense. Leadership for a stronger defense aims to increase robustness, simplify command and obedience relationships, and through decentralization of mandates and responsibilities, enhance the conditions for mission tactics.

As part of this work, the Armed Forces have organized a Marine Staff for the leadership of the Marine units. The Marine Staff is established in Muskö in Haninge municipality.
