Your Responsibilities

As a specialist nursing assistant in Hjälmsäter home care, you work closely with users in their homes, providing support and care based on individual needs according to IBIC. You start the day with your colleagues with a report and planning, and then work according to your planned route. The work includes personal care, service tasks, and medical interventions by delegation, and you continuously monitor changes in the users' health status. No day is the same, and the work requires you to adapt to the users' needs and sometimes adjust the planning in dialogue with colleagues.

In the role of specialist nursing assistant, you have an in-depth responsibility within the workgroup. You notice when something is not working for a user, contribute your specialist knowledge, and support colleagues in their daily work. You collaborate with coordinators, planners, and managers regarding the adaptation and development of services. The work often involves working independently in the user's home, and you need to be able to make your own decisions, while always having support from colleagues. The mobile phone is a central work tool and is used for keyless home care, planning, and documentation. The assignment also includes being a contact person, participating in welcome conversations, being responsible for implementation plans, documenting in Treserva, and participating in collaboration meetings with home healthcare, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists.

Your Workplace

Hjälmsäter home care has its staff base at Hjälmsätersgatan 12, located in a residential area with good bus connections and about a 15–20 minute walk from Linköping's city center. The operation only conducts home care, and the area is large but clearly defined. You work on fixed routes within a limited part of the area, which creates continuity for the users and good conditions for building relationships and early noticing changes.

You will be part of a safe and experienced workgroup with about 20 colleagues of mixed ages. The workgroup is described as caring and cohesive, with extensive experience in supporting new employees. Working in home care involves some degree of solitary work and requires you to be confident in your professional role, but you always have the opportunity to turn to colleagues, coordinators, and managers for support. The introduction is structured and comprehensive, with both digital components and several introductory sessions together with an experienced mentor. The delegation process is an important part of the introduction.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who is a trained specialist nursing assistant with any specialization and has experience in care, support, and assistance. You have good care experience and work from a salutogenic approach. Experience in home care is an advantage.

You communicate clearly in Swedish in both speech and writing, have good computer skills, and can cycle. Experience with cognitive diseases or mental health issues is an advantage. As a person, you are self-sufficient, empathetic, and collaborate well with others. You can adapt how you convey knowledge and information to both users and colleagues.
