We are looking for dedicated and service-oriented environmental workers for our recycling centers in Norrtälje municipality. As part of our team, you will be a key person in receiving and managing bulky waste, hazardous waste, and reusable materials – always with a customer focus and the environment in mind!

Our three recycling centers – Häverö, Görla, and Salmunge – receive hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. We are now looking for more employees who want to contribute to a more sustainable society.

We need to strengthen our team with:

• 1 permanent employee for Salmunge recycling center

The placement is primarily at Salmunge ÅVC, but work at Görla ÅVC and Häverö ÅVC may also occur. Flexibility and good collaboration skills are therefore important qualities.

Job Responsibilities

The customer is always in focus. You are an important face outward and meet every visitor with a professional and friendly approach. You guide, inform, and create security in knowing that we handle recycling in the best way. As an environmental worker, you will work both independently and in a team to:

• Welcome and assist customers with sorting and recycling
• Register business cards and perform reception checks
• Operate machines and handle various types of waste
• Reload materials and maintain order at the facility
• Perform snow removal and cleaning of areas
• Ensure good quality and report any deviations
• Contribute improvement suggestions for a more efficient operation

What You Need to Bring

Requirements:

• Driver's license B
• Computer skills
• Good knowledge of Swedish to guide residents and businesses

Meritorious:

• Experience from the recycling industry or service professions
• Driving license or documented experience in operating wheel loaders, material handlers, or excavators

You communicate easily with customers, managers, and colleagues, and since you work closely with others, good collaboration skills are crucial.

The work primarily takes place outdoors – you therefore need to appreciate working in all weather conditions.

Welcome to Us

Norrtälje Water and Waste is responsible for the collection and treatment of municipal waste from about 50,000 customers, latrine waste from about 2,700 customers, and sludge waste from about 30,000 individual sewage systems. We are also responsible for planning, development, and procurement of collection and treatment services, as well as for developing waste tariffs, local waste plans, and local regulations on waste management. The collection and transport of municipal waste is handled by contracted entrepreneurs, while the municipality's recycling centers are staffed by our own personnel. Currently, about 22 employees work at the three recycling centers in Norrtälje municipality.
