Are you our new photojournalist?
Södermanlands Nyheter has ramped up and is investing in images and video with two photojournalists. We are now looking for a temporary photojournalist who wants to help develop our visual storytelling.
We believe in the power of local journalism and are convinced that strong visual journalism is crucial for touching, explaining, and influencing. Therefore, we want you who not only captures moments but creates stories that linger.
We are looking for someone with a strong commitment and interest in local journalism, who is quick, creative, and fearless. You are equally comfortable with still images as you are with moving images, and you are passionate about following events, from the fastest breaking news to the deepest investigations. You enjoy meeting new people, are good at collaborating in editorial teams, and can effortlessly switch tones in your visual storytelling depending on the job, while also having a desire to develop in illustrations and packaging for social media and websites.
As a photojournalist at SN, you will work closely with reporters and editors, but also independently – with the freedom to find the visual stories that make a difference.
Are you the one we are looking for, the photojournalist who can take SN to the next level? Get in touch! A background in photography, other journalism education, or equivalent work experience is a plus.
We also want you to have the ability to be structured and meticulous, good knowledge of image and video editing, and an understanding of basic professional ethics and the constitutional concepts in the media field.
A driving license (B) is required as driving is part of the job.
We are a values-driven company that strives for equality and diversity and therefore values applicants with different backgrounds and experiences.
Selection and interviews will take place continuously, and the position may be filled before the application deadline.
The position is a full-time temporary position from as soon as possible until the end of August.
If you have questions about the position, please contact editor-in-chief Kristina Levin at [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]).
For union inquiries, contact local SJF club's Johannes Tångeberg at [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]).
